What I liked:
- Anaheim Chilis – hot
- Super Chilis – hot
- Holy Mole – medium
- Spinach – plant in rows 1st week of June
- Basil – plant in rows 1st week of June
- Mixed greens – plant in rows, every 3 weeks
- Tomatoes – no Roma’s, use plastic twine – not baling twine, for support, plant deep
- Onions – plant fairly shallow
- Tomatillas – awesome
- In general, peppers are not ready until late August/early September. No need to put plants in before Memorial Day, despite the weather.
Changes for next year
- Plant fewer beans – maybe 10 plants is enough.
- Try cukes again.
- Watermelon, peanuts, cauliflower, poblanos, serranos, banana peppers, kale or chard to overwinter.
- Skip Cayennes.
- Seed buckwheat between tomato plants
I know you can easily kick my butt…
